      I can empathize with Ray Sullivan’s amazement that after all these years he is still rising in the early hours of the morning to travel to shows, when he thought he would have grown out of it by now. Dennis and Wayne felt the same astonishment with themselves when doing a mating with Pakros at 9pm in a blizzard. Peter and I left our hotel at 3.30am to travel to mate with Zamp at 6.00am on a back road near the owner’s house before he went to work. There is something about the German Shepherd that inspires such devotion to the breed. If we were wealthy we would be described as endearingly eccentric in our actions, instead of classed as bordering on the edge of insanity.
