I am judging GSDs at Reading & District KA on 24th November held at Slough. Ever since seeing the sit. com. ‘The Office’ which is based in Slough I have wanted to have a look at the place. I enjoy these general open shows because as well as some good quality dogs to judge there are often some interesting specimens. Also there are usually a lot of trade stalls at them. Last year before judging I purchased a glass spaghetti jar for a pound and two extra large wine glasses. We used them on Christmas day for our poorman’s Bucks Fizz (orange juice and sparkling white wine instead of champagne) and found them very useful, as it is most annoying when you are in full creative flow in the kitchen and you have to keep stopping to replenish your glass.

After the Sieger Show I look forward to Bobby Duff’s report on it, which he publishes on his web site, it is now there to view at www.germanshepherdforum.com whether I agree with his opinions or not, I always find him interesting. And if someone takes the time and puts in the effort to write something, then I feel I should take the time and make the effort to read it all.

A Xeno x Pepsi puppy and a Pakros x Hilla puppy are now in Jamaica with Alfred Campbell. Dogs going in to the Country have to spend two weeks in a compound near the airport. The day before the dogs were due to leave England for Jamaica there was a hurricane there, which flattened the compound, tragically all the animals inside were killed. The puppies’ journey had to be delayed until the compound was rebuilt.  Fortunately the older puppy had to wait until the younger one was old enough to travel otherwise he could already have been out there. They are going to their first show in a few weeks time.  Another Xeno x Pepsi puppy is in Trinidad with Laurence Berment. It is very strange to think that puppies that a while back were running around the garden are now thousands of miles away.

The schedules for GSDC of Kent are now out and can be downloaded from our website. Shows in the area, Heads of the Valleys GSD Club Open Show on Sunday 9th December, the judge is Dean Bryant.
