I noticed in the KC gazette that the GSD Club of Bristol has been de-registered.

Congratulations to John and Pauline on Elmo vom Hühnegrab becoming a Champion and being well-placed in the Pastoral Groups under all-breed judges. After the slight on the breed by the derogatory comments made about the BOB at Crufts, Elmo has upped the profile of the breed considerably by his achievements at General Champ. Shows. Andrew Brace, a well-respected very experienced all rounder who judges all over the World, commented in his Going around column in Dog World after WELKS, ‘The BOB winner, Elmo vom Hühnegrab, struck me as a handsome example of this noble breed.’ While writing this, news has come in that at Birmingham National Elmo was BOB went on to gain first place in the Pastoral Group and then went BIS. More congratulations.

A few from the South West made the trek to Scotland for the South of Scotland GSD&ABTC Champ. Show. The bitch judge was Eddie Stephenson. 3^rd JB Kessel & Brimacombe’s Conbhairean Vanta at Kesenburg. 1^st YB Julian’s Gazjackhof Carlie at Lindmark. 4^th PGB Kessel & Brimacombe’s Conbhairean Nathalie at Kesenburg. 2^nd LB&RCC Sheffield’s Willowdale Kiefa. 3^rd OB Cullen’s Veneze Chaos.

Bacchus has become a father again, his last three litters have been a seven, a nine, a ten and this litter was a twelve. When he went to live with Dave, Denise and Emma they were worried as he took a while to get the hang of this mating lark. Now there is no stopping him.

We did not manage to get to the Regional Show, but like many we did show our support with an entry and donation. Listening to the feedback it seems to have been a success. After attending the OG and LG Shows in Germany many people thought it would be good to have a similar system over here, and it has been discussed and debated at length; now it has arrived. The GSD Club of Devon Championship Show is on Saturday 24^th July at the Newhall Equestrian Centre, Killerton Broadclyst, Exeter. The judges are Otto Körber-Ahrens for dogs and Rüdiger Mai for bitches. Entries close 25^th June.
