      Congratulations go to Ronnie and Ted on Videx Omar at Devat gaining his second CC at Fife, and the RCC at Devon. Also to Dave and Denise on their homebred Zuberg Lotti gaining the RCC at Birmingham National. And to John and Pauline on their recent import Flexy v Huhnegrab gaining the RCCs at SKC, Devon and Southern Counties. I was delighted that Vonderoak Roma, a granddaughter of Jaquenetta Jinnistan, gained her 2^nd CC at Devon and her 3^rd CC the next day at Southern Counties, many congratulations to the Hall family.

      We have not bred a litter with a bitch in it for five years, which hampers your breeding programme somewhat, and you tend to end up keeping too many males. We got into a similar situation twelve years ago and we imported a Jack v Trienzbachtal daughter in whelp to a Jeck v Noricum son. We decided we would have to buy in another bitch again, on hearing this the only bitch we have of breeding age ( Sparky’s dam) has produced four dogs and four bitches (choice as well!) to Larry and Anna’s Orbit v Tronje son. Consequently I have not been to many shows lately so many thanks to all the people who keep me informed for the South West news. I was asked why the show results were reported several weeks late, this is because I try to forward the news in the first few days of the month to ensure it is included in that month’s magazine. Better late results than never!

      Thank you to Denise Hensley and Ann Swift for the lift to the HOV GSD Club’s K.C. Movement and Construction seminar and Hands on Assessment day. The K.C. accredited trainer Carol Coode was most entertaining and gave us lots of interesting tips about choosing the best constructed puppies in the litter, show handling and judging as well. But she had difficulty understanding why GSD specialist judges (with one or two exceptions) do not put their hands all over the dog when judging, and why all the dogs in a class, however many, are kept in the ring and all are critiqued when the K.C. do not request this is done. About half of those who attended were from the South West. Everyone who took the Hands on assessment passed, so well done to all of us.
